I'm pretty confident ANET won't make a level 30 much different from a level 100. The level 100 may have more advantages, like a bit more level-required skills he has access to, whihc wouldn't be THAT much of a difference since its only PvE.

i think that the level cap wont affect anyone since imo it instead of having a lvl 20 character with 18 million exp you will have lvl 100, its not like you will gain more attributes...well unless im mistaken

Whats the point of even getting eye of the north when your characters will simply be unusable later on though...

I wouldn't be surprised if some staff at Anet are sweating right now. They're trying to please their customers, but a big percentage of their customers don't like the change. The other percentage loves it. If they change it back, they'll please the other customers, while the customers that liked the first change will be disappointed.

They're trying to please two "worlds" of customers at once, and they're not doing so well. :/

Will HA/UW/FOw Exist in any way in Guildwars two? Or will the 5 God faith diminish over the span of time between Gulidwars One and Two.

They sold out when they dropped the first Green item in the game. It was a matter of time before it came to this.

I will admit that i am surprised that they didn't try to extend GW1 out for a few more chapters.

R.I.P Guild Wars 2008

The unique game we all loved, gave our money for and played with love gone forever and dearly missed.

<sarcasm> YAY can't wait for Grind Wars 2 - just like WoW edition </sarcasm>

NO!!! I will quit this game if there is such high level cap. 100% positively sure. The reason I like guildwars is the level cap at 20! I hate to level up forever just like in WoW. The reason I play guildwars not WoW is just because of the low level cap which I like the most

Ok can we have less "OMG GW IZ DEAD!!" posts? You can hate the changes (just like I hate some of the changes) without sounding like a fool.

I'll repost here what I said over on GWOnline earlier:

So far, I like what I hear.

Higher level caps are not unique to WoW. In fact, *nothing* I've heard so far suggests anythign that can directly be tied to "WoW".

Let's see... D&D Online has a level cap of 12 (soon to be 14) -- does that make is a GW clone? Of course not. Does having a lower level cap make DDO better than GW? Of course not.

Also, it might surprise people the WoW (and other MMOs) does a few things *better* than GW. Yes, I hate the level grinding and the mindless traveling; I've played enough WoW to know the game isn't for me. But there are some features of WoW that *are* good -- good pet controls, for example -- that would make GW a better game.

I look forward to different races. I'm a human being 24/7; it would be nice to be a hulking Charr sometimes!

GW was an original concept; if you love the original game, it's safe to assume that those same game designers will do one heck of a job on GW2.

And you know what I like best? They're learning from what *didn't* work in GW! Yup, a company that admits they need to rethink their game! How completely refreshing.

GW isn't perfect; WoW is far from perfect; GW2 won't be perfect for everyone, either. But I'll put faith in the ANet crew because GW1 is such an awesome achievement.

Yeah. Feels like they're saying, "We failed at trying to be unique, so we're just going to make it like all the other games out there." Sure there will be some new/unique stuff, but it doesn't sound like Guild Wars anymore. The only thing that will make me even consider it now is the fact that it won't have a monthly subscription.

I do love ANet and all the designers, so hopefully they won't let us down. It will definitely be worth checking out, but I'm not going to get my hopes up. I'm just really disappointed and turned off by there being nothing after EotN. Makes me want to just stop playing already. I'm definitely not going to waste time getting all my chars through the campaigns now. I think once Hard Mode comes out, I'll do that here and there, then do EotN until it bores me, and then just wait until my characters eventually die :/

Please ANet, before you twist the knife in my back, promise me you still care about the casual players that don't want all the grind that the other games have.

There was simply nothing more to do with them though, mob blasting after mob blasting simply started to bore people.

Well i'm disappointed that they are dropping the Campaigns. Thats what kept me intrested. Their tired of Reinventing the game every chapter, Fair enough but thats what made Guild Wars so great.

I agree with people saying the level 20 cap was good. Because everyone had the same base health, and everyone only had 8 Skills.
Its what separates Guild Wars from all the other eBay MMO's.

I like the Idea of bringing Chapter 4 back to Tyria and further north.
It would be good for something like that to happen with each of the continents, or maybe a future Chapter involving the resurrection of Orr.

I think GW2 sounds pretty interesting. All those freaking about the level cap automatically being a grind are just being silly. If there is no real content to keep you challenged/interested to develop your character then yes, it will be a grind and poor game design. I've gotten used to having the level cap in GW, but I'm looking forward to trying GW2 without and expecting that they can pull it off.

Pretty sure it's too soon to decide if GW2 is going to be great, awful or somewhere in between but I'm looking forward to hearing more about it.

Guess that makes 2 of us.

I was hoping the episodic system of GW1 would continue for a couple of years, now it's basically a failed idea.
GW: Proph, then Factions one year later... Nightfall 6 months later, then the finishing chapter still doesn't have a determined date, and isn't stand-alone.

ANet's capability of fullfulling a promise sure can be trusted. (Auction House?)
Ah well... let both dev teams focus on it heavily for all I care.
I'll 'wait' (playing GW1, or maybe just some other game... it feels pointless to still work on characters when you know there'll only be one minor extra coming, before there's no more new content) 'till the bèta's of GW2, then decide if this is what I/we really want.

ArenaNet is a company, and as a company they need money, and they are competeing with huge companies like Blizzard. They obviously feel the need to turn their game into WoW with no monthly fee. I want ArenaNet to see the community response to things like the "No Level Cap". I don't want Grind Wars and I don't want World of Guildcraft, I want Guild Wars. Guild Wars 1 may be the best game I ever played, Guild Wars 2 sounds like the worst game I never played.

At least I know why we haven't seen things like the Auction house, they are saving it for GW2.

Sorry ArenaNet, seems like you aren't seeing what the community asks for. 6v6 was supposedly requested by many players, yet nobody likes it. I hope you can see that there are many people who want a unique game, like Guild Wars 1.

Thanks Anet if i wanted huge player gvg id go play wow.
Seeing now that this is more or less my only choice now i WILL go over to WoW for the main reason is that they implemented it first and im willing to pay to play WoW just because they came up with this idea and didnt steal it.

Cya guys its been fun

This is all quite exciting. My main concern, I suppose, is the higher level cap or no cap at all. I wasn't a fan of the cap for Prophecies but had since been converted, so I wonder if they can change my mind again.

Races I'm not so concerned with. Most other RPGs I've played had them, and I've heard a lot of people express interest in playing as Charr, so this could be good. The worst thing about it is people saying, because of this, GW is becoming more WoW-like, like they invented races or something.

I'm not upset about no new professions either. 40 new armors? That's great. New skills can most definitely find a home in a current attribute. The biggest loss will be in character animations and dances. Maybe if we could choose a dance or other emote from a list like in City of Heroes, that could make up for it?

Otherwise, as I've said, I'm excited. Arenanet seems to be looking to better the game even if it means abandoning their original business model for it. Can't wait for the beta for GW2.
